Betty the ADRI House & Asbestos Awareness

Betty’ – The ADRI House, an initiative of the Asbestos Education Committee in partnership with the Asbestos Diseases Research Institute (ADRI), is a purpose built, mobile model home designed to demonstrate where asbestos might be found in and around any Australian home built or renovated before 1987. Betty’s mission is to educate all Australians about the dangers of asbestos so they think smart, think safe, think asbestosawareness.com.au, because it’s not worth the risk!

Betty was delighted to meet the new Director of the Asbestos Diseases Research Institute, Professor Ken Takahashi during her appearance in Cabramatta yesterday. There was a wonderful crowd and the team from Council welcomed Betty and Crew with open arms.

Yesterday, Geoff and Karen had the great pleasure of introducing Betty to the newly appointed Director of the ADRI, Professor Ken Takahashi who was joined by Victoria Keena, Executive Officer, ADRI and Thomas Yeung, Asbestos Inspector, SafeWork NSW. We are most grateful that Fairfield City Council Mayor, Frank Cabone and the wonderful team at Council welcomed Betty and her team to your community. We are very much looking forward to returning next Wednesday 29 March to bring Betty's important message to Fairfield.
