2016 Asbestos Awareness Month Betty the ADRI House NT, SA & Far West NSW Tour
In October 2016, Betty and crew commenced their 46 day Central Australian Tour in Darwin then headed south through the Territory to South Australia and then east through Far West NSW travelling over 6,000 kilometres and holding 36 media and community events.
Betty’s trip took her to 36 communities including Uluru, Coober Pedy, Broken Hill, Port Augusta and Adelaide. We would like to thank the Northern Territory Government, NT WorkSafe and the Government of South Australia – SafeWork SA, all 33 Councils and Bunnings for hosting Betty.
Special thanks to NT, state and federal MPs, Asbestos Diseases Society of South Australia (ADSA) and the Asbestos Victims Association of SA (AVA) for welcoming our Ambassadors and Betty to your communities. And to our amazing volunteer crew, Geoff and Karen Wicks who made Betty’s tour possible, our heartfelt thanks!
